I started my career at MTV as a publicist for their new gameshow programming block, which included shows like Remote Control and Singled Out. Later, I was promoted to Marketing Manager at Nickelodeon. I created marketing tie-ins for advertising sponsors, such as Toys R’ Us, for significant tentpole events like the Nickelodeon Toy Run. I also developed the marketing strategy for the launch of Nickelodeon's first animation series, Nicktoons. My responsibilities included partnerships with McDonald's to launch Rugrats through Happy Meals and organizing on-box promotions with Kellogg's to promote Ren & Stimpy. It was a fun first job for me!

In the mid-1990s, I worked as Ameritech's Director of Marketing and Advertising. I partnered with Disney to launch Ameritech's new cable system throughout the Midwest. In the early 2000s, I led the website team at CDW to redesign their e-commerce websites for commercial, government, and educational businesses. We sold over 10,000 products and generated over $2 billion in revenue. Continuing to build my marketing career, I served as Director of Marketing & Advertising for Career Education Corporation’s Colorado Technical University. I led the marketing team to win a Webby award for CTU’s Virtual Campus.
